Fat Thursday

Fat Thursday-  in the Christian calendar , the last Thursday before Lent, also known as Carnival. Shrove Tuesday carnival started last week. In Poland and in the Catholic parts of Germany, according to tradition, on this day is allowed to overeating. Popular dishes include donuts and Faworki, also called in some regions or chruścikami crisp. Formerly overeating stuffed bacon donuts, bacon and meat. According to one superstition, if someone does not eat Shrove Tuesday or a donut - later in life they will not be led. Around the sixteenth century in Poland appeared in the habit of eating donuts sweet version. They still looked a bit different than it is now - in the middle were of the hidden little peanut or almond. The one who hit the donut so happy, he had to enjoy the prosperity and success.
